The fruit of the Spern Steiner vineyard, this selection of Merlot has a deep ruby colour tending towards black and an oily movement that reveals great wine. Its slow-opening nose reveals intense spice notes, joined by black cherry, forest fruits, chocolate-latte-coffee notes and oak aromas. The flavour has a deep and solid structure, with more body and a thicker meaty texture. The full-bodied fruitiness is characterised by intense and concentrated aromatics, further enhancing the elements that we have identified in the nose. Its lively tannins are expected to smoothen even further with shorter ageing, which should give longevity and excellent balance to the composition.
