Our family tradition of viticulture goes back centuries. Our vineyards are located on the hillside between Fertőrákos and Balf, where the unique climate near Lake Fertő, the excellent soil and the abundant sunshine provide everything our Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Blue Frankish, Zweigelt, Merlot and Turan grapes absolutely need. This winery was the dream of my father, Joseph Luka, whose untimely and sudden death has brought me to the greatest test of my life…to continue and revitalize this small estate.

We have only three hectares of land and have had success both at home and abroad. The way in which we make our wines combines the self-imposed rules of our ancestors with the basic technological practices of our time.

Like all small businesses, this winery is the result of the work of many kind and indispensable people! I would like to thank my family and friends for their help! And thank you to Mr. Rudolf Krizan, my Austrian advisor, for teaching us to treat the vine with respect, love and discipline!

Perhaps the best way to thank them all for their help is to give him a huge award.

At the beginning of 2019, we received the news that our 2015 vintage Kékfrankos wine had been awarded the Hungarian Wine Grand Prix by the Hungarian Wine Writers’ Circle.

In May 2019, we achieved another success: we won the title of the 250-year-old Semmelweis University wine in the Carpathian Basin wine category with our 2017 vintage Kékfrankos.

In 2020, the professional jury of Vince magazine awarded our 2019 Kékfrankos with the Vince Award.

And what can you expect when you taste Luka wine? The interesting duality of masculine character and feminine lightness.

I believe that our wines are not just pleasant liquors, but books in a bottle that tell and tell… about our city, our people and our destiny.
