Gangl Winery

At the Gangl winery, with its poncichter tradition, winemaking is a family heritage: in addition to viticulture and winemaking, the science of barrel making has been passed down from father to son for generations.

2/3 of the 9 hectares of vineyards are located on the coast of Lake Fertő. Their vineyards are dominated by red grape varieties such as Blue Frankish, Zweigelt, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, but they also grow white grapes: Sauvignon Blanc, Green Veltliner, Tramini and Zenit.

They carry out the vineyard work themselves with the biggest care, taking attention to environmentally friendly management. In addition to modern red wines, the range includes the traditional “grandfather’s Blue Frankish”, made in the wild yeast style, a lighter, fresh and crisp white wine, and a rosé made from a blend of Merlot and Blue Frankish.

The processing takes place in the stone cellar in Lehár Ferenc Street in the city centre, which has a history of about 200 years. In the cellar, guests can enjoy a wine dinner in the authentic surroundings of the museum objects. In the cellar’s wine-shop you can also buy bottled wines.
