Töltl Cellar
The history of the Töltl family dates back to 1566, when they were already selling wine on the Polish market.
The owner of Töltl Winery, József Töltl, cultivates 10 hectares of vineyards, all of which are located on the banks of the Lake Fertő. Pinot Blanc and Blue Frankish are the two main grape varieties of the winery, but there are also Irsai Olivers, Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot and a real speciality of experimental character: the Roesler variety, which is bred from Blue Frankish and Zweigelt.
They focus on chemical-free, natural farming. That is why they are constantly experimenting with the collaboration of renowned and prestigious grape breeders to find new species resistant to fungal diseases.
Töltl Cellar’s light, fruity and straightforward wines are not only sold in Sopron, but can also be found in Budapest and Vienna. In addition to selling their wines locally in the winery’s courtyard, they welcome guests up to 40 people in their stylish tasting room.
